Breaking News – ICC about ready to issue arrest warrant for Daffy Duck

Ah I wonder what Warner Bros would say if it really was a reference to their cartoon character. To explain, from the beginning I have likened Gadhafi to Daffy Duck because of all of his flapping about when he has gone on his rants and ramblings on public television. His “zenga zenga” rant is the main reason for using Daffy Duck, since most would know that the cartoon character exhibits many of these same traits…..

I just saw this post at NEWS.com.au:

THE International Criminal Court (ICC) will announce today plans to issue arrest warrants for Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, his son Saif al Islam and several pro-government officials, according to a report obtained by Al Arabiya.

ICC prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo will present the report to the UN Security Council along with an update on his investigation in Gaddafi’s attacks on civilians.

While it was unclear whether the Security Council would need to request International Criminal Court judges to issue the arrest warrants, sources close to Mr Ocampo said it was the next logical step.

“From May 2 to 5, the ICC prosecutor will be in New York … [and] on May 4, the prosecutor will report to the Council on progress in the investigation regarding the situation in Libya where he opened an investigation into alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes,” Mr Ocampo’s office said.

On March 3 Mr Ocampo launched his investigation against Gaddafi and his sons for crimes committed against humanity in Libya.

Please make sure you read the link provided in the actual report. It is from Al Arabiya and it provides more information. Mussa Kussa could also face arrest for his role in the unrest. It also says that investigations will be ongoing with other parties being investigated for crimes.
