The major criticism that I have concerning Newt Gingrich is his belief in climate change. Some have thought that he might have changed his mind, but that is not the case at all. This report comes from the Daily Caller, where it indicates that Newt Gingrich still believes in the Climate Change fallacy, or if you prefer, the climate change mushroom fodder.
Any candidate pushing this Climate Change BS should be shown the door. This should be a dead issue. However the CC people go quiet for a while and then they start their BS again.
FYI, Canberra, where I live had its coldest May morning on record at almost -7C, and at the same time in Melbourne the suburbs of Frankston and Cranbourne, plus their surrounds also experienced a record cold temperature for May. It is not even winter and the cold has already started to set in. We have already had some snow in the surrounding mountains.
What we are experiencing is called “the weather”. It is absurd to claim that we can affect the weather, either in a negative or a positive way. On the other hand we can do positive things to reduce smog in our cities, which is something that has already been achieved. The weather, on the other hand, is something that is out of our control.
A world at war 
Waiting and hoping. Not giving up yet. Of a truth, he WILL be forced to address this sooner than later. Let’s see how well he does that.

The Earth and climate have been changing since the planet was created; we do not live on a static planet. There are many variables which yield changes to the ‘norm’ however, this is not due to what man does or doesn’t do. The jet stream, ocean warming/cooling, volcanic/earthquake activity; they all come together to form our very active and sometimes unusual weather patterns.
Newt needs to study Atmospheric Science 101 so that he can intelligently discuss our ever-changing climate. To jump on the ‘climate change’ bandwagon with no scientific proof to back it up (and there isn’t any) is just political suicide.
That aside, he has no moral compass and I will not vote for someone who can’t keep the old britches zipped.
Someone had better step forward and do it *now* or we’ll be stuck with the usurper for another four years. Maybe forever, if he has his way.

Hey All,
I don’t put a while bunch of weight on whether a candidate believes in climate change or not.
My main concern is the fiscal issue.
The reason is, because if we truely want to address the budget crisis we find ourselves in, these “Green” programs should be cut completely. Heck the whole of the EPA should be closed, along with the Department of Education, Health and Human Services, The FDA, and any number of other Government Departments that the Consitution does NOT give the Feds authority to regulate. If the people of the “several STATES” want these Departments, so be it, but the Feds have NO authority to regulate a huge number of areas they have stuck their nose in too.

@IB, I see the fiscal issue and belief in CC go hand in hand. The reason that it is a major concern is that these believers want to introduce even more measures such as a carbon tax.
If you read the article you will see that both Gingrich and Romney believe the crap about carbon change. If this is the case, then they will see it as an opportunity to raise even more taxes which will cause more hardship for both business and the population as a whole.

All I can say is that it is good he revealed his position early on. If he tries to backtrack, it will only make him appear to be even more waffling than we already know.
Don’t we have to wonder, though, why is he so clueless? Here he is running at a time when the Tea Party and other conservatives are at high pitch over the excesses of big government, and yet he comes out at least in partial favor of the dreaded national health care program.
Could we say that he just doesn’t “get it”? I think he needs to get out of the beltway mode of thinking – too late now, however. He has outed himself, as far as I’m concerned.

Gingrich gets it fine; he just doesn’t give a damn. He’s far, far more Left than conservative in his thinking. He wasn’t all that spiffy in the 1990s, and he’s only gotten worse as the years have passed.
Anyone who espouses the individual mandate is to be avoided at all costs. We already have a Marxist contaminating the White House; we don’t need another one. Not unless the end goal is to foment a revolution and/or civil war.

I would not call Newt a Marxist… more like a soft socialist. Marxist like the pResident usurper are very hardcore in their beliefs and also hardcore in their willingness to redistribute what does not belong to them in the first place.
I could give you the example of the excesses of the present Australian government when it comes to a budget that can only continue to blow out of control. The current Prime Minister is a Marxist. Just like in the 1970s when we had to suffer the excesses of the Whitlam government, this one has gone to many lengths of absurdity.
We had the pink batts scheme that was a colossal failure. Then there was the $900 “refund” sent to people who do not even pay tax… and meanwhile the Middle Income earners pay more and more in the way of taxes. Then there is the schools programs including the nonsense of providing computers to “every student” (let the family pay for a netbook it is cheap enough); Gillard even wanted to do the cash for clunkers thing. However, the latest absurdity is that of money set aside to place a set top box in the home of every pensioner. Really? $300 ? They can buy one in the supermarket for $50!!
Prior to the Whitlam government Australia had a privatised medical insurance scheme. Not everyone could afford the insurance, but if people were poor the doctors provided their services pro bono. Even the hospital system meant that those who could afford to pay for their stay in hospital did so, whilst the others were given free treatment (sort of). Whitlam introduced what was called Medibank. The intent was to ruin the medical insurance companies and for the government to get their hands on those reserves. The scheme was a failure. After much tinkering we ended up with the present Medicare scheme which is horrendous. We pay out more for doctor visits etc. On top of that these schemes encouraged fraud. The only good thing is that if you go to outpatients in the hospital you do not pay on the spot. The money is collected from the government, but it all comes via the levy imposed upon our taxes.
These schemes are horrendous, and if Newt Gingrich is in favour of something like that… then he is not the right person to be in the White House…..

I well remember when Joe Scarborough was a part of the conservative group elected to Congress in 1994. Under Speaker Gingrich there were some advances made toward bringing the government more to the right. However, things didn’t continue in that direction for long.
Here is a recent quote by Joe Scarborough in a Newsmax article pertaining to Gingrich’s outrageous statements yesterday:
“MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, who was part of the 1994 GOP-controlled House of Representatives that worked with Gingrich and former President Clinton to balance the budget said: “I’ve got to say this confirms my previous concern about Newt Gingrich over the past 15 years, that rhetorically, he’s far, far right. But when push comes to shove, he’s in the mushy middle. ”
“I mean he didn’t get run out of Washington by us in ’98 because … he was a fire breather. He got run out of Washington because he kept cutting deals with Democrats, and then attacked us for being too conservative fiscally.”
Scarborough said Gingrich’s controversial remarks Sunday appeared to reflect views Gingrich espoused earlier in his career.
“It was Newt in 1974 and 1976, when he ran as a Rockefeller Republican,” he said.

It would seem that the slams against Paul Ryan were his undoing. It has exposed his real agenda.
I note that HotAir is still pushing the boring Pawlenty and the LSM keep on bringing up Jon Huntsman.
So far they are pushing men who are RINO. They seem to think that these people are “moderate” when in fact they are not moderate at all. These are the real extremists.
